Quail's quirky and original designs are loved and collected all over the world. Their imaginative take on their animal-themed products has led to a loyal following of happy people who appreciate both the style and the very high quality. All their designs are made using completely traditional methods. First, the model maker forms the original out of clay. Then the mould is made for slip casting where high-quality stoneware clay is used. The method of decoration is underglaze. This painting is a very skilled job and a rarity these days when most ceramics use more mechanical methods for decoration. This is where Quail really stands out. The very method of hand painting means that each piece is individual. Quail's animals are stylish, characterful and cool whether they be a flower vase, a pencil pot or a salt and pepper set.
