Many kitchen gadgets claim to be iconic, and very few actually live up to that label — but the KitchenAid mixer is one of them. The inaugural model launched over a century ago in 1919; the Artisan range of KitchenAid mixer colours that we all know and love today first landed on shelves in 1994. Since then it’s become a firm favourite on wedding gift lists, with many of our couples’ heralding them as one of their best wedding presents ideas. We’ve sold thousands of them. One of The Wedding Present Company buyer’s, Keshia Harper, explains why they’ve stood the test of time. ‘Our couples love KitchenAid mixers because they’re the perfect blend of iconic design, professional performance and artisan quality — they’re actually still handmade in Ohio, America. They’re a standout piece in any kitchen, just beautiful to look at and unrivalled in quality. I have the pistachio green one and it gives me such joy everyday to see it on my worktop.’

Of course, all the KitchenAid colourways are lovely, but some are proving much more popular than others. Here are the 8 best KitchenAid mixer colours of 2024 according to our couples…

KitchenAid mixer in pistachio green

#1 Pistachio Green

The pistachio green KitchenAid mixer colour was chosen by 51% of our couples in 2024. It's 3400% more popular than number 8 on this list. Buyer, Keshia Harper, attributes this demand to the versatility of the hue. 'Pistachio green is a tasteful and timeless shade that complements many styles of kitchen, from traditional country designs and mid-century decor, to contemporary schemes.'

#2 Almond Cream

Taking second spot is Almond Cream, which is 633% more popular than number three on this list. Gift List Advisor Gemma Herd tells us that, 'like pistachio green, it's an incredibly popular choice among couples because it effortlessly complements any kitchen design. Its an ageless, clean, warm colour, blending style and function perfectly.'

Ice Blue KitchenAid mixer on a kitchen worktop surrounding by baking ingredients

#3 Ice Blue

The Ice Blue KitchenAid mixer moves between third and four place on our list of the best KitchenAid mixer colours. Gift List Advisor, Lucy Scudamore, says that it's favoured by couples with refined taste. 'The Ice Blue KitchenAid adds a refreshing touch of elegance to any kitchen. Fans of if usually want to pair it with a Smeg Toaster or Kettle.'

Onyx Black KitchenAid mixer on a white kitchen worktop surrounded by baking ingredients

#4 Onyx Black

Gift List Advisor, Laura Godfrey-Faussett, explains that the flexibility that Onyx Black offers is the key to its popularity. She says, 'black appliances make a strong design statement, but they're also a neutral colour. They're popular with couples who want their appliances to be a feature and want some adaptability if they decide to switch up their decor down the road — black never really goes out of style, and it looks good with everything!'

Empire Red KitchenAid Mixer on a wooden kitchen worktop with cake mix in the bowl and a plate of lemons next to it

#5 Empire Red

'If you are wanting a bold statement piece that infuses your kitchen with energy and charm, then the Empire Red mixer is the go-to colour,' says Lucy. 'It attracts both couples who like heritage décor and period properties, and those who like clean, modern kitchens with colour pops.'

Cast Iron Black KitchenAid mixer on a white workshop

#6 Cast Iron Black

'Like Black Onyx, Cast Iron Black appeals to couples who want to future-proof their kitchen decoration,' says Laura. 'Most people are instinctually drawn to either the gloss finish of the former, or the matt finish of the latter. What some people love about this model, however, is that smudges and fingerprints aren't as noticeable on it.'

White Kitchen Aid Mixer on a white worktop on top of black kitchen cabinets

#7 White

This model is not from the same Artisan range as the others — it's the only Classic KitchenAid mixer to make it onto the list. According to Gift List Advisor, Clemmie Jones, this version is 'the perfect choice for fans of clean, modern and minimalist designs. The white KitchenAid mixer manages to look both futuristic and retro at the same time, which adds to its charm.'

Rose colour KitchenAid Mixer on a white kitchen worktop surrounded by bowls and strawberries

#8 Rose

Number 8 on our list, Rose, 'is a great option for our couples that want to be a little braver with colour, but aren't ready to go bright,' says Lucy. 'It's a lovely, soft shade of pink with a romantic charm to it. It photographs so nicely, and so is a popular choice with foodie and homes influencers.'
